Delay in resolution of missing saroops case brewing anger among Sikh community: Sandhwan

Chandigarh, 8 November, 2020 (Yes Punjab News)
Speaking on the issue of the missing swaroops and the ineffectiveness of the Shiromani Gurudwara Prabhandhak Committee (SGPC) to resolve the issue, AAP Punjab Kisan Union President and MLA Kultar Singh Sandhwan appealed to the Akal Takht jathedar to take immediate action and resolve the issue.

He said that the delay in finding a resolution to the issue, despite repeated requests by the Sikh community, is increasing the anger among the Sikh community.

This has the possibility of making the situation more tense in the future. Sandhwan appealed that investigation needs to be conducted under the purview of retired Sikh judges and strict actions need to be taken against the accused.

Sandhwan said that the government and SGPC is fighting tooth and nail to protect the people involved in this case. He said that SGPC president Gobind Singh Longowal and his predecessors have always been mere pawns of the Badals and now they have become the image of corruption themselves.

The recent example of this is the case of Manjinder Singh Sirsa, a close associate of the Badals, on whom the courts have issued an order to file cases of corruption for his involvement in siphoning off money from the Gurudwaras of Delhi.

Sandhwan said that just like this the close associates of the Badals have always siphoned off funds from the Gurudwaras for their own personal gains because of which the Sikh community will never forgive them.

Sandhwan said that both Badals and Captain are playing a fixed match and are protecting each other because both have cases of corruption against them. He said that Captain’s inaction in the serious issue of the missing swaroops show that Captain only cares about protecting the Badals.

Sandhwan said that the Akal Takht is the final court for the Sikh community and considering the seriousness of the issue, the Jathedar must call for an immediate investigation and resolution of the issue.
