Punjabi actor-model Deep Sidhu has been remanded to judicial custody for 14 days.
Sidhu who was nominated in the Red Fort incident that happened on 26th of January in the national capital during Farmers’ Tractor Parade, was nominated by Delhi Police. A reward of Rs. one lakh was announced for a clue leading to his arrest.
On the run after the 26th of January, Sidhu was arrested by Delhi Police on February 9 and thereafter the Police got his remand for a week twice.
After remaining in police custody for 14 days he was today produced in the court of Metropolitan Magistrate Samarjeet Kaur who was told that the police didn’t require his custodial interrogation any further. The Magistrate then passed the order to send him to judicial custody for 14 days.
During the hearing, lawyers raised concerns over Deep Sidhu’s security in jail. However, the metropolitan magistrate maintained that the application seeking security and a separate jail cell will have to be head by the jurisdictional the magistrate at the Tis Hazari Court.
