Chandigarh, July 22, 2019 (Yes Punjab News)
The leader of Aam Aadmi Party and MLA from Sunam, Aman Arora on Monday raised serious questions over the custodial deaths of accused serving terms in different cases in Punjab jails.

He said that the incident of death of Mohinder Pal Singh Bittu, who was an important reference point in the cases of desecration of Sri Guru Granth Sahib happened in state cannot be just an accident but indicates a bigger conspiracy to wipe out evidences.

He said that the incidents of desecration had grabbed the centre stage in Punjab politics in last few years and issues of unemployment, higher electricity fares, farmers etc. were pushed behind but the death of Bittu has stalled the process of justice in the case.

Arora said that likewise the death of Gurpinder Singh Babbar who was accused in the case of 532 Kg heroine worth 2700 Crores in police custody has raised question over the working of police and other agencies.

He said that the death indicates that the state govt and police is working under the pressure of drug traders operating in the state. He said that the chief minister who is also the home minister of the state must take responsibility of the incidents.

Arora said that Punjab at present is going through bad times and more issues are waiting in future but the casual behavior of the govt is turning these into bigger issues.

He said that the govt must take strict action against those officers who are responsible for the security breach and let these cases happed. He urged the govt. to find solution of the problems of state youth, dalits and farmers to avoid more mess in the future.
