Jalandhar, November 6, 2021 (Yes Punjab News)
Department of Fashion Design, CT Group of Institutions, South Campus, Shahpur in association with The Fashionate by Shelja held a Charity Program ‘Helping Hands’. In this, students of Fashion Design constructed garments for kids and females residing in slum areas on 66ft road, with the help and guidance of HOD Pallavi Kapoor and faculty of fashion design.

Students made attires from left over fabrics; they reused the fabrics for making new garments with a touch of designing. Preparation for the Helping Hands program started one month before the final event. Students jotted down the measurements of kids and females to design customized dresses for them.

Telling about this initiative, HOD Pallavi Kapoor said, “Students have made five attires each, three for kids and two for adult females. Students made various kinds of frocks like a- line, gathered and ruffle for kids, and construct kurta, anarkali frocks, salwar suits for females. The motive of this program was to make those underprivileged people happy, joyful and make them feel special as they are also equally important part of the society as they are not alone and forgotten.”

CT Group Managing Director Manbir Singh congratulated the department for taking this unique initiative for the social cause.
