COVID impact? – Dr Harsh Vardhan, Ashwani Choubey resign, Gowda also dropped

Hours before Narendra Modi-led NDA Government’s cabinet expansion and reshuffle, three more ministers have resigned.

The ministers include both the Ministers related to Ministry of Health.

Union Health Minister Dr Harshvardhan and his deputy, MoS Ashwani Chaubey have tendered their resignations. It may be recalled that the Ministry had been under severe criticism for the handling of COVID situation in the country.

Union Chemicals and Fertilizers Minister DV Sadananda Godwda has also stepeed down, ahead of cabinet expansion and reshuffle.

Cabinet Ministers Ramesh Pokhriyal, Santosh Gangwar, Debasree Chaudhuri resign ahead of Cabinet Expansion, Reshuffle

Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal, Minister of State Santosh Kumar Gangwar and Minister of State Debasree Chaudhuri have put in their papers ahead of expansion and reshuffle in Council of Ministers of Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led NDA government.

Sources said that the three ministers have been dropped and asked to submit their resignations.

This would be the first expansion of the Council of Ministers since NDA’s return to power in 2019.

Pokhriyal, is a Lok Sabha MP from Uttarakhand’s Haridwara parliamentary seat.

Minister of State with independent charge in the Ministry of Labour and Employment, Santosh Kumar Gangwar has also resigned.

Union Minister of State for Women and Child Development Debasree Chaudhuri, a Lok Sabha MP from Raiganj constituency in West Bengal has also been dropped.
