Covid-19 test must for pilgrims going to Sri Nankana Sahib

The Covid-19 test will be mandatory for the Sikh pilgrims going to Gurdwara Sri Nankana Sahib, now in Pakistan, with Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) jatha (group), to attend the centenary event of Saka Nankana Sahib.

The corona test has been made mandatory by the Pakistan Embassy, Delhi, 72 hours before February 18.

It is notable that the jatha would visit Pakistan from February 18 to February 25 to mark the centenary of the martyrdom of Sikhs and Saka Nankana Sahib.

SGPC president Bibi Jagir Kaur said, “A jatha of Sikh pilgrims is being sent by the SGPC to attend the events to be held at Sri Nankana Sahib, Pakistan, to mark the centenary of Shaheedi Saka. The details of pilgrims have been sent to the Pakistan embassy in this regard.”

Bibi Jagir Kaur said that according to the embassy, all the pilgrims who have submitted their passports to the SGPC would be required to undergo Covid-19 test 72 hours before February 18.

She said that a camp for Covid-19 test is being organized in this regard by the health department on February 15 and 16 at 10:00 am at the office of SGPC in Amritsar.

She said that the pilgrims who have submitted their passports can reach for the Covid-19 test as per the above dates.

In addition, pilgrims can get the Covid-19 test done on their own as well with condition of 72 hours before February 18.

Bibi Jagir Kaur said that to go to Pakistan, a Covid-19 report which 72 hours in advance from the travel date is required.
