Construction Work on 500 crore 550 bedded fully charitable hospital begins at Gurdwara Bala Sahib

The Construction work (kar sewa ) to set up 500 crore 550 bedded fully charitable hospital at Gurdwara Bala Sahib near Sarai Kale Khan in national capital Delhi in commemoration of 550 th birth anniversary of founder of Sikh Religion began today on Sunday on 17 th Nov 2019 at famous Bala Sahib Gurdwara.

The Kar Sewa (volunteer service) started with sikh tradition under the guidance of Baba Bachan Singh.

DSGMC President Manjinder Singh Sirsa announced donation of One Crore and one lakh rupees for construction of the hospital while DSGMC General Secreatary Sh Harmeet Singh Kalka announced to bear complete expenditure of shuttering of the hospital.

The construction work( Kar Sewa) on 500 crore cost Guru Harkrishan Institute of Medical Science and Research .

super speciality hospital popularly called “Bala Sahib Hospital” to be set up at 55 bighas land will be completed in next two years while the OPD Services at new hospital is likely to start in next six months initially in Cardio and Nephrology departments said Sh Manjinder Singh Sirsa President Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee here today .

The hospital will cater to patients in around 20 areas of cardiology and cardiac surgery, neurology, gastroenterology, urology, orthopaedics, radiology, transfusion medicine, pulmonary medicine, medical oncology, internal medicine, and endocrinology, among others.

The super speciality hospital will run a 100 seats medical college and 60 seats nursing college to meet the growing demand of medical professional . The new hospital is likely to start OPD in next six months initially in Cardio and Nephrology departments and new departments will be added in phased manner depending on availability of new blocks , trained manpower and latest machinery and equipments which will be made available from India as well as western countries.

The hospital will provide affordable quality medical care to around 5000 patients daily from all over india once it is fully functional said Sh Manjinder Singh Sirsa President Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee here today .

It will have a complete range of medical specialities, super-specialties and Centers of Excellence with multi-disciplinary health professionals, state-of-the-art ICUs, multi-functional modular operating theatres, digital subtraction angiography and the latest model of surgical microscopy.

The new hospital will be an abode of service to humankind and a place of solace for the sick.

The largest health facility to be run by DSGMC will be fully charitable institute which will be governed by 9 member trust comprising persons of eminence drawn from medical , armed forces, judiciary , civil servants , industrialist, social service having wide ranging of experience in respective fields .

The construction of different structures/blocks of the hospital will be ready in the next two years and the medical college can admit 100 students per academic year by the year 2022 while admission for 60 seats in BSc nursing course will be made during the year 2020. The hospital will have international standards modular operation theatres, trauma centres and emergency services to meet any health care needs.

The hospital will deploy most modern fully equipped ambulances on various places on Delhi ring roads with trained staff to cater to the needs of emergencies .The hospital will have total 6 blocks comprising CTVS, OTs, Cancer Units, Medicines etc besides around 15 operation theatres will meet medical emergencies round the clock .

The research hospital will focus on low cost health care solutions for India’s poor and will be a teaching hospital as part of Medical and Nursing College . The hospital will be constructed to comply with national and international green building standards.

It will have a minimal carbon footprint, have zero wastewater discharge, and will eventually be solar powered. The materials used in construction will be environmentally friendly, and the campus’ natural environment will be preserved with development of green areas filled with native plants and trees as well as flowers.

Our new health institution will continue in Sikh tradition of providing free or low cost medical care to those in need said Sh Manjinder Singh Sirsa President Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee here today.
