Construction work of New Sarai started for Sangat coming to Harmandar Sahib

For the convenience of the Sangat (community) coming to pay obeisance at Sachkhand Sri Harmandar Sahib, under the expansion of the stay facility, the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) today started the construction work of a new sarai (inn) namely Bhai Jaita Ji Niwas near Chowk Baba Sahib in Sri Amritsar. The Kar Sewa (voluntary service) of this new sarai will be done by Kar Sewa Qila Anandgarh Sahib Samprada.

After the ardar (prayer) and inaugurating the Kar Sewa, SGPC President Bibi Jagir Kaur said that the Sangat arrives to pay obeisance at Sachkhand Sri Harmandar Sahib from across the world, and for providing stay facility to them, the SGPC increases these facilities as per time and requirement.

“Due to the increase in influx of Sangat in the present time and to overcome the shortage of accommodation, the SGPC is taking an initiative to develop a new sarai namely Bhai Jaita Ji Sangat Niwas near Chowk Baba Sahib in the proximity of Sri Darbar Sahib. This new sarai will house a basement, 45 rooms and 22 halls. More new sarai will be developed at relevant places in future”, said Bibi Jagir Kaur.

Baba Sucha Singh of Kar Sewa Qila Anandgarh thanked Bibi Jagir Kaur for providing service to Bhai Jaita Ji Niwas on behalf of the SGPC and said that they would try their best to complete this work at the earliest.

On this occasion, Giani Jagtar Singh Ludhiana, additional head granthi of Sachkhand Sri Harmandar Sahib, SGPC senior vice-president Surjit Singh Bhitewad, general secretary Advocate Bhagwant Singh Sialka, chief secretary Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami and SGPC members and officials were present.
