Congress MLAs turning rebels as bureaucracy tightens grip on govt. in Punjab : Tarun Chugh

Chandigarh, Nov 27, 2019 (Yes Punjab News)

The Bharatiya Janata Party today said that development and public welfare programmes in Punjab were crumbling as Congress MLAs were turning rebels because of the indifferent attitude of bureaucracy which has tightened its grip on government in the state.

Tarun Chugh, the national secretary of the BJP, said that the government which came into being by making lofty promises has failed to deliver. “The failure has been complete. The government has not been able to rise up to its promises and the expectations of the populace,” he said.

The bureaucracy has completely taken over and fearing backlash of his own fellow legislators, the Chief Minister tried to find a solution by appointing half a dozen MLAs as Advisors thereby burdening the state exchequer with undue but heavy expense of government bungalows, plush offices, fleet of vehicles and a number of guards. “The public is being forced to pay through the nose, as the choicest few are enjoying,” Chugh said.

The BJP leader said the Congress MLAs of Chief Minister’s home district have now raised a banner of revolt as everyone wants to share the booty knowing well that half of the term of the state government is already over. The MLAs now seem to be frustrated because of the Royal ways and issue of inaccessibility of the Chief Minister and officers caring two hoots for the elected representatives, he said.

Patiala MLAs Rajinder Singh, Madan Lal, Hardial Singh Kamboj and Nirmal Singh have openly accused their own government of corruption and also highlighted supremacy of bureaucracy in the present political scenario.

Warning the Congress government to mend its ways, Chugh said the people of the state won’t tolerate the feudal regime for too long as they have already made up their mind to teach lesson to the inaccessible, inefficient, unproductive and undemocratic government-led by Capt Amarinder Singh.
