Congress MLA Navtej Cheema, Advocate Harpreet Sandhu distribute portraits of Gurdwara Ber Sahib

To mark the 550th Parkash Purb celebrations of founder of the Sikh Religion, Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, an SGPC approved portrait of Gurdwara Ber Sahib was distributed in the form of parshad by Sewa Sankalp Society’s vice president Mr.Harpreet Sandhu, Advocate alongwith MLA Sultanpur Lodhi Mr Navtej Cheema and head granthi.

The event started with ardaas at the Gurudwara Ber Sahib by head granthi Bhai Surjit Singh Sabhra followed by distributing portraits to the visiting Sangat. The wordings on the portrait “ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ਕੁਦਰਤਿ ਵਸਿਆ ।। ਤੇਰਾ ਅੰਤੁ ਨ ਜਾਈ ਲਖਿਆ ।।”emphasised on the almighty pervading in his whole creation .

Speaking to the media, MLA Mr. Cheema hailed Sewa Sankalp Society’s initiative to promote environment and religion in a unique way on the lines of Shri Guru Nanak’s teachings.

Vice President of Sewa Sankalp Society Mr Harpreet Sandhu said that the portraits shall be distributed to aware the masses about the need to conserve environment as well as taking them close to sikhism. He said that Sewa Sankalp Society’s motto is ” Sewa Da Sankalp” and they are reaching out to people of all ages, religions and castes to come forward and join them to make this world a better place to live by means of Sewa .
