Committee recommends names of 7 War Hero Dependents for Govt. Jobs to Punjab CM Capt Amarinder

In a gesture to honour the decorated war heroes of the state, the High Powered Committee headed by Chief Secretary has recommended the names of seven dependent candidates for government jobs to the Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh for his final clearance.

Disclosing this here today, a spokesperson of the Defence Services Department disclosed that all the seven candidates had been recommended for jobs of their choice, which was sought from them by the Committee before forwarding the same to the Chief Minister.

While Prabhpreet Kaur widow of Wing Commander M S Dhillon who had requested for allotment of Class I post have been recommended for post of Assistant Registrar Cooperative Societies. It may be recalled that Wing Commander M S Dhillon had made the supreme sacrifice in an air crash while evacuating civilians from flood hit areas in Arunachal Pradesh.

Likewise, both Gurpreet Kaur widow of Shaheed Lance Naik Sandeep Singh and Rajwinder Kaur widow of Shaheed Sepoy Mandeep Singh of Gurdaspur had requested for Group B or C post and they have been recommended for Social Education & Panchayat Officer in Rural Development Department.

Similarly, in the case of Pallavi Saini widow of Shaheed Gunner Sukhdyal of Pathankot who had opted for either Group B or C post, the Committtee has recommended her name for Inspector in Cooperative Societies.

In addition, Shamsher Singh brother of Shaheed Sepoy Mandeep Singh of Taran Tarn has been recommended to be posted as Naib Tehsildar as he had requested to be provided a Group B or C job.

As both Kuldeep Singh brother of Shaheed Sepoy Jaspreet Singh of Moga and Jagdeep Singh brother of Shaheed Sepoy Mandeep Singh of Sangrur have been recommended for the post of Constables in Police Department in line with their secondary level educational qualifications and as per their option, the spokesperson added.

All these martyrs had laid down their lives during various counter-insurgency operations in Jammu & Kashmir.

Reiterating Captain Amarinder Singh’s firm commitment to ensure overall well-being of our brave soldiers and their families in recognition of their gallantry deeds, the spokesperson said that the Chief Minister has assured that the state government would leave no stone unturned to rehabilitate them in government sector so that they could lead a life of dignity and respect, the spokesperson further said.
