A meeting of the CKD Educational Committee members was held today to fill up the vacancies of Honorary Secretary and Additional Honorary Secretary of the Educational Committee in which after the approval of the committee members academic Sikh Scholar Dr. Sarabjit Singh Chhina has been appointed as Honorary Secretary and S. Santokh Singh Sethi, an expert in the field of education , has been appointed as Additional Honorary Secretary of the CKD Educational Committee .
CKD administrators handed over the responsibilities of the new posts to Dr. Sarabjit Singh Chhina and S. Santokh Singh Sethi. It is pertinent to mention that newly appointed Dr. Sarabjit Singh Chhina is a retired Dean, Faculty of Agriculture, Khalsa College, President Confederation of UNESCO Clubs, Senior Fellow Institute of Social Sciences, New Delhi, Former Senate and Syndicate Member of Guru Nanak Dev University, member of the Education Advisory Board, Punjab, Chairman Universal Group of Institutes, member of the Khalsa Governing Council and author of about 60 books.
Similarly, S. Santokh Singh Sethi, a Seasonal Educationist and former CKD Honorary Secretary is Educational Advisor of Khalsa Schools Educational Committee and Member of Khalsa College Governing Council, Retired Assistant District Educational Officer and Guidance Counselor, Former President and now Vice President for last six years of SGS Khalsa Senior Sec. School, Anandpur Sahib and also an advisor of Bhai Vir Singh Sadan Committee.
During the meeting, Chief Khalsa Diwan President S. Nirmal Singh directed the Educational Committee to take special measures to provide fee waiver and loan facilities to the poor, needy, deserving Sikh children and to connect the students with Sikhism. S. Bhag Singh Ankhi, Chairman CKD Schools highlighted the structure of the Constitution of the Educational Committee and stressed on the need to strengthen the Committee financially.
At this occasion CKD President S. Nirmal Singh, Chairman CKD Schools, S. Bhag Singh Ankhi, Honorary Secretary S. Ajit Singh Basra and other members congratulated Dr. Sarabjit Singh Chhina and S. Santokh Singh Sethi on assigning the new posts and hoped that they would successfully fulfill the objectives of the Educational Committee while maintaining the dignity of his prestigious posts.
Dr. Sarabjit Singh Chhina and S. Santokh Singh Sethi thanked CKD management for entrusting them with the responsibilities of the new posts believing in their ability and assured them to serve as per the wishes of the committee.
