Punjab Congress MLA Charanjit Singh Channi who was Sunday named as leader of Congress legislature party met Punjab Governor BL Purohit in the evening along with other senior leaders of the party.
After staking claim to form a government before the Governor, Channi addressing the media for the first time outside the Raj Bhavan said, he has staked his claim and the Governor has granted him time to take oath. He would be taking oath as Chief Minister at 11.00 AM on Monday, the day and time given by the Governor.
Responding to the questions of the media, Channi said, he, the PPCC president and other senior leaders of the party would be making detailed statements after the swearing in ceremony.
