MLA Chamkaur Sahib, Dr. Charanjeet Singh, today visited Village Malakpur along with SDM Kharar, Smt. Divya P, to take stock of the situation arising after the bridge was damaged due to heavy rains and increased water flow.
During the visit, MLA inspected the affected sites, including the SYL crossings at Malakpur and Bassian, where temporary arrangements for water discharge and pipeline laying have been proposed.
The concerned departments, including PWD (B&R), were directed to ensure immediate execution of the proposed works so that water discharge is streamlined and the risk of further damage is minimized.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Dr. Charanjeet Singh emphasized that the safety of residents is the top priority and assured that all necessary steps would be taken on priority to restore normalcy. SDM Kharar further stated that regular monitoring would be carried out and field officers have been instructed to remain vigilant.
