Cases must be filed against those who protected Majithia for four and a half years: Bhagwant Mann

Jandiala Guru (Sri Amritsar Sahib), December 21, 2021 (Yes Punjab News)
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab State President and MP Bhagwant Mann said that Charanjit Singh Channi government should register a case against Akali leader Bikram Singh Mijithia in drug case, but also against those who have been protecting him for four and a half years. Mann was addressing a public meeting organized by AAP at Jandiala Guru on Tuesday.

He said that Congress government had not taken any action against drug traffickers for almost years and now in the last days of its governance it had registered a case against Majithia just for a formality. Party candidate from Jandiala Guru Harbhajan Singh ETO, Baljit Singh Khaira, Lok Sabha in-charge and Harbant Singh, Rural District President were present on the occasion along with other local leaders.

Addressing a public rally, Bhagwant Mann said, “During the SAD-BJP government, millions of youth had succumbed to drug addiction and the situation continued even during the Congress government. The Congress has not done anything against Bikram Majithia in the drug case for the last five years and has now registered an FIR. But who is responsible for drug-related deaths during the last five years? Not only Majithia, but also those who did not take any action against Majithia, should be held accountable.

Mann further said that the problems of every region of Punjab are same; Majha, Malwa and Doaba all face same issues of; Drugs, poverty, inflation, unemployment and their livelihood. He said that the mandate issued by the people of Punjab at the time of 2017 elections has been upheld by them but now the people must hold every Congressman accountable.

Bhagwant Mann said that former Congress Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh had sworn an oath on Gutka Sahib that he would break the cycle of drug addiction and provide employment to every household. But Captain continued to rest in his palace in Siswan. The drug dealers weren’t even touched and the youth is still unemployed. Sukhbir Badal is responsible for sacrilege issues and administrative mess that followed. Now no one is opening even a window for them (meaning they are not getting any aid from anyone, from inside or outside of government).

Criticizing the ruling Congress and Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi, Bhagwant Mann said that Chief Minister Channi, Navjot Sidhu and other leaders are always fighting among themselves. In Punjab, Congress is running not the government, but a circus. He said that the Chief Minister should have a vision or a policy for his people and baseless announcement won’t do.

Mr. Mann alleged that Congress and SAD-BJP leaders had ruled and looted Punjab and left it in debt. He said that when the Aam Aadmi Party would form the government in Punjab, it would not only fill the state exchequer but also fill the pockets of the people as the money of the exchequer was the money of the common people.

AAP state president Bhagwant Mann slammed Punjab’s education system, saying that the system of illiteracy, corruption and oppression has to be changed and AAP supremo and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal initiated that reform. Kejriwal proved that everything can be improved when the common man comes to power. He said that good schools and hospitals would be built in Punjab. Children of ordinary backgrounds will be made officers, so that they can alleviate poverty of their homes.

Bhagwant Mann narrated the story and appealed to the people to get free from the thieves (Congress, Badals and BJP) and hand responsibility over to honest people of AAP then, thefts and corruption will stop. The Congress and the SAD-BJP have been tested time and again, so give the Aam Aadmi Party a chance.

Mann said that the people of Punjab had sought treatment of all their issues from Congress and Akalis for 70 years but the disease of debt, corruption, unemployment and drug addiction had not been cured. Press the button of ‘Jharoo’, then you will not need to take your issues to anyone ever again.

AAP leaders Swaran Singh, Dilbag Singh Badala, Ajay Gandhi, Gurwinder Singh, Seema Sodhi, Chanakh Singh, Sarabjit Singh Dimpi, Vijay Mati, Suneena Randhawa, Vandana, Naresh Pathak, Om Prakash Gabbar and Vikramjit Vicky were also present in rally.
