Capt Amarinder overreacting on Kashmir just to please Gandhi family: Tarun Chugh

Chandigarh, Aug 6, 2019 (Yes Punjab News)

The BJP today slammed Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh of overreacting on Kashmir issue just to please Gandhi family. The party said the people of the state were taken aback by the statement issued by Capt Amarinder Singh and his decision to put a ban on ‘celebrations’.

Tarun Chugh, the national secretary of the party, today said that the orders passed by Punjab government regarding imposing a ban on celebrating and welcoming the Jammu and Kashmir decision taken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, were against the spirit of nationalism and democracy.

Chugh said using police to curb the sentiments of people and by arresting people who were peacefully hailing the decision of the Modi government were actions those could have been avoided.

“Though otherwise, Amarinder prefers to take a nationalistic stand, this time he has chosen to stand by his masters – the Gandhis – which is highly condemnable,” he said.

“It is for the first time that a state government has chosen to suppress the voice of the people who came out to appreciate a historic decision taken by the Union Government. In fact, Amarinder government, by its decisions and actions, is itself creating panic among the people of the state without any reason or rhyme,” he said.

Hailing the visionary and historic decisions of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah regarding Article 370 and reorganization of Jammu and Kashmir, Chugh said that the duo have full support and backing of people of India who wanted a permanent, truthful and nationalistic solution to the problems of common people of the state who were fed up with the negative propaganda and anti-national actions of separatists and militants.

Chugh thanked Modi, Shah and all the ministers of the cabinet, who dared to take a decision in the interest of the nation which also complimented the BJP-led NDA government’s slogan of ‘Ek Vidhan, Ek Nishan and Ek Pradhan’.

The BJP leader said that 130-crore people of India were with the Narendra Modi government as each and everyone knows that the decision would mark an end to the era of blood-shed and take the region ahead for an overall development of the area and its people.

“As the state now almost stands converted into two separate Union Territories, it would now be the responsibility of the Union government to see that the region remains peaceful and a new era of development is ushered. Peace will bring along fresh investments and a spurt in tourism will change the economy and destiny of the people who have suffered a lot in last seven decades,” he said.
