Capt Amarinder orders Special Girdawari to assess Crop Loss due to Rain & Hailstorm

Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Friday ordered a special girdawari for the assessment of crop loss caused by the untimely rainfall and hailstorm in the state.

All the DCs have been asked to submit the preliminary appraisal report positively by Monday, said an official spokesperson.

Expressing concern over the losses, the Chief Minister ordered urgent steps to ascertain the extent of the damage to crops to ensure that due compensation can be awarded to the affected farmers at the earliest.

The Chief Minister has directed the Financial Commissioner Revenue (FCR) to issue detailed instructions to all the Deputy Commissioners to conduct special girdawari in their respective districts in the wake of rains and hailstorm, according to an official spokesperson.

Captain Amarinder has also asked the Revenue Minister, FCR, Divisional Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners, besides revenue officials, to tour the rain and hailstorm affected areas extensively to conduct on-ground assessment.
