Capt Amarinder levelling frivolous allegations against me: Kejriwal

Chandigarh, December 2, 2020 (Yes Punjab News)
The Delhi chief minister and national convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) said on Wednesday that teeming millions of farmers from across the country, including Punjab, were protesting against the three black farm laws enacted by the Modi government at the Centre in the bone-chilling winter nights, adding that the country’s ‘annaadaata’ had been left to face all kinds of atrocities while fighting for their livelihood.

In a statement, Arvind Kejriwal accused Punjab chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh of siding with the Modi government instead of holding hands of the farmers during this distressing time when they were demanding repeal of the black laws.

He slammed Captain Amarinder Singh for his wild accusation that the Delhi government had cleared the passage for implementation of the three laws, which, he said, was nothing but a false propaganda against me and my government.

The Delhi CM said that the people of Punjab and the country knew full well that the contentious laws brought in by the Centre, which were deemed to be in force after these getting the assent of the president of India.

“How can Delhi state government or any other state government, for that matter, could implement or amend the central laws passed by the parliament?” Kejriwal accused him of speaking the language of Modi government when he stated that the Delhi government had implemented the draconian laws.

Arvind Kejriwal said that ever since the government had rejected the Delhi police’s request to convert the nine Delhi stadiums into makeshift detention centres, the Modi government was hell-bent on “spreading rumours about me and my government” adding that he (PM) tipped Punjab CM to accomplish the mission.

Stung by the failure of the mission to convert the stadiums into temporary jails to lodge the agitating farmers into them, “the BJP government entered into a setting with Capt Amrinder Singh to mount a false and frivolous propaganda to defame me and my government for allegedly clearing the way for implementation of the contentious laws”, the Delhi CM said.

The AAP national convener said “the people of Punjab know how CM Capt Amrinder Singh supported the clearing the passage for implantation of the three black laws. Now he was trying to mislead the people under one pretext or the other”. Kejriwal added that the union government had formed a committee to pass these laws in Parliament, of which Captain was a member.

He cornered the Punjab CM, saying “The people of Punjab are asking you today why didn’t you raise your voice against the anti-farmer laws when they were being processed and passed in the parliament. Punjab CM owes an explanation to the people”

Slamming the union government for branding farmers, who were fighting a battle for their livelihood, as the avowed enemies of the country and anti-national, saying that top-rung leaders of the BJP had been mouthing inanities against the farmers.

He condemned the motor-mouthed leaders of the BJP, citing an example of son of a protesting farmer whose son had attained martyrdom fighting the enemy on the frontiers. He said that Punjab CM should hold hands of the farmers instead of playing a second fiddle to the Modi government.

Arvind Kejriwal appealed to the citizen of the country to stand shoulder to shoulder in support of the struggling farmers in this hour of distress, which, he said, was the first and foremost duty of every citizen of the country..

The Delhi CM also called upon the AAP leadership, volunteers and sympathiser to render their selfless service to the farmers so as to save them from ruining at the hands of the state and central governments, which were hell bent ruining them.
