Capt Amarinder hell bent to save Badals, Khaira questions CM over DGP’s letter to CBI

Chandigarh, August 29, 2019 (Yes Punjab News)

Sukhpal Singh Khaira Bholath MLA and president of Punjab Ekta Party(PEP) today questioned the morality of Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh for contradictory stand of Punjab Government and DGP Investigation on taking back probe of Bargari sacrilege case from Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

In a statement issued here Khaira said that DGP Investigation, Punjab Police Prabodh Kumar has written a controversial letter to Director CBI to continue the investigation into the Bargari sacrilege case after CBI filed closure report in the Mohali CBI court.

Parbodh Kumar is directly working under Capt Amarinder Singh who also holds home portfolio. A DGP can’t dare to write such a letter which is against the interest of state government without the consent of the Chief Minister, he added.

Khaira said that Capt Amarinder was taking stand in public that CBI should return the case files because it(CBI) has no jurisdiction to continue the probe after Punjab Vidhan Sabha passed a resolution to get back probe from the central agency. But in practice he was trying to support the accused by asking CBI to continue the probe. What is going on in Punjab, he asked Capt Amarinder Singh.

Khaira said that the actions of Capt Amarinder Singh spoke louder than words and one can easily read between the lines that Capt Amarinder Singh is hell bent to white wash sins of Badal family. He said that murder of dera follower Mohinder pal in the high security Nabha jail shall be seen in this light only. Mohinderpal was a key witness and only link to reach to real culprits.

Khaira said that there was public outrage against the hundreds of cases of sacrilege of holy Guru Granth Sahib during the tenure of Parkash Singh Badal and Sukubir Singh Badal being the home minister at that time. He said that various judicial commissions and SIT’s set up to probe the incidents had indicted dera Sacha Sauda followers and also raised accusing finger of Badal family for their involvement in the heinous crime.

Khaira also pointed out conflict in Punjab Chief Minister and his ministerial colleagues over the handling of sacrilege issue and taking back probe from the CBI. He referred to statement of cabinet minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, appeared in today’s newspapers, expressing anguish over the letter written by Prabodh Kumar to CBI. He said that Randhawa had also questioned Capt Amarinder Singh and described the DGP’s stand contradictory to Punjab Government.

Khaira wanted to know from Chief Minister had Prabodh Kumar written the letter with his consent and if no then what action he was taking against the DGP, if it is yes then under what circumstance CBI was told to continue the probe while in the court state has challenged closure report. If CBI has taken the U-turn to reopen the cases, it is due to political conspiracy in which Capt Amarinder Singh and Badal family are fully involved.
