Samyukt Kisan Morcha put out an appeal to Haryana farmers not to fall into the trap of BJP’s conspiracy tactics. SKM stated that the proposed “Tiranga Yatra” of the BJP’s Haryana unit is mainly to instigate farmers and defame them.
SKM urged farmers to see through this devious plan of BJP, and to not let this dirty tactic, under the guise of the national flag, succeed. This yatra will not be opposed, and this will also ensure the dignity of the national flag, said SKM. SKM clarified that all other programs of boycott/black flag protests against BJP, JJP and their leaders will continue.
The Kisan Sansad sessions will continue at Jantar Mantar tomorrow, parallel to the Parliament’s proceedings. It is being reported that the Parliament functioned for only 18 out of 107 hours because the Opposition’s legitimate demand that pressing issues of common citizens and issues related to protection of Indian democracy were not met, despite numerous adjournment motion notices put in.
This is clearly the case of an egoistic and adamant government continuing with its undemocratic functioning, squandering away crores of rupees in not listening to the Opposition, and allowing them to raise important matters. Meanwhile, the Kisan Sansad, despite the site of the Sansad in Jantar Mantar being flooded with water, is functioning in a disciplined manner, with detailed deliberations. In Chhattisgarh, a parallel Kisan Sansad was run by the state Kisan Sabha on Friday, in solidarity with the Kisan Sansad near the Parliament.
In Punjab’s Qila Raipur, Adani Logistics has decided to terminate its business operations ‘owing to the ongoing farmers protests and blockade since August 9th 2020′, leading to the Adani unit being dysfunctional. SKM welcomes this decision, and said that protesting farmers do want to ensure that corporates like Adani do not benefit at the expense of citizens’ food security. SKM also demanded that Adani should return public funds paid to it, for operations not done.
Meanwhile, Punjab Legislature’s House Panel that looked into grievances of farmers falsely implicated in various cases in Haryana and Delhi, and also incarcerated/faced violence from the security forces, proposed that all aggrieved farmers should be paid compensation and supported with legal aid. The final report is awaited from this Committee.
In Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan, BJP leaders are facing the ire of citizens in various programs when local black flag protests are happening at their events. Another BJP leader Madan Mohan Mittal faced a black flag protest staged by farmers in Anandpur Sahib. In Haryana, Parliamentarian Ratanlal Kataria had to cancel his participation in a BJP event in Ambala.
In Sirsa, former MLA and BJP leader Ramachandra Kambhoj faced a protest where protesting farmers kept shouting slogans until he left the meeting, in village Mangala. BJP’s Kailash Meghwal faced protestors’ wrath in Rajasthan’s Sriganganagar. Local farmer leaders stated that this is part of the BJP plan to disrupt their peaceful protest. Multiple FIRs have been lodged by the administration in this incident in Rajasthan.
SKM leaders today honored the doctors’ team providing a selfless service at Singhu Border in the free medical camps being run in the name of Sadbhavna Mission. The morcha sites around Delhi are continuing to face monsoon rains bravely and uncomplainingly, despite numerous hardships to the protestors.
