Punjab Congress president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring today accused the Bharatiya Janata Party of trying to steal the credit of the achievements of our armed forces.
He also questioned the logic behind forewarning Pakistan “officially” about the strikes on terrorist camps inside its territory.
Replying to a question during an informal interaction with reporters here today, Warring observed that just because the government of India, as revealed by Jaishankar, had forewarned Pakistan about the strikes, two dangerous terrorists Hafiz Sayeed and Masood Azhar escaped to safety.
He pointed out, despite our defence forces striking dot at the target and hitting their headquarters, both Sayeed and Azhar escaped as they had moved out. “Isn’t this betrayal with the country?” Warring asked, while observing that it is obvious once the terrorists got information that their camps will be targeted they escaped to safety.
“We salute the valour, courage, bravery and efficiency of our armed forces who hit the targets with such accurate precision”, he said, while adding had the terrorists not been sounded in advance they would have been killed and it would have broken the back of terror.
The Ludhiana MP also alleged that it was shameful on part of the BJP that it was trying to claim credit for what was actually done and achieved by our armed forces and not the BJP government. “Rather you should be ashamed for betraying the nation by intimating them in advance and providing them a chance to move to safety”, he told the BJP.
