Punjab BJP Vice President Fateh Jung Singh Bajwa has said that BJP is a party that believes in democratic values but Aam Aadmi Party’s thinking is not like this. Expressing a strong reaction to Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s statement in the Assembly that BJP can remove Punjab from the national anthem, Bajwa said that only the Aam Aadmi Party can have such a thinking and not the nationalist BJP.
After paying homage to Shaheed Bhagat Singh at Khatkar Kalan, the senior BJP leader said in the statement given here that BJP always talks about uniting the country and it is clear from the statement of Bhagwant Singh Mann that your thinking is to break the country.
Bajwa said that a leader holding a responsible post like Chief Minister should desist from making such baseless statements for petty politics. He also reminded Bhagwant Mann that “Jana Gana Mana” which he was calling the national song in the assembly, is actually the national anthem.
He said that it is a matter of record that BJP has always held the hand of Punjab. He said that Kartarpur Corridor opened during BJP rule, farmers of Punjab got money in the form of Kisan Samman Nidhi, Veer Bal Diwas was also started by BJP in the memory of Sahibzadas. Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself came to Punjab to participate in the 550th Prakash Parv celebrations of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
Bajwa advised Bhagwant Mann that instead of making such statements at the behest of his Delhi-based boss, he should think carefully and then give a statement because the people of Punjab know that BJP’s thinking is pro-Punjab.
