Bibi Jagir Kaur appeals pilgrims to follow Covid safety norms while paying obeisance at Gurdwaras

Due to the prevailing situation of Covid-19, the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) president Bibi Jagir Kaur has appealed to the pilgrims visiting to pay obeisance at Gurdwaras to follow the safety norms.

Bibi Jagir Kaur issued orders to work with 50 per cent staff at the office of the SGPC.

“At the present time, the situation is sensitive due to Covid-19, therefore, the SGPC office would work with 50 per cent of the staff attendance. Moreover, following the lockdown, the SGPC offices would remain completely closed on Saturday and Sunday”, said Bibi Jagir Kaur.

She has appealed to the pilgrims that during visits to pay obeisance and devotion at Gurdwaras, the guidelines of the health department should be followed.

“The pilgrims should wear masks and adopt social distancing. Also for safety, they should sanitise their hands as well”, said Bibi Jagir Kaur.

Bibi Jagir Kaur has instructed the management staff and sewadars of every Gurdwaras to work cautiously while on their duties. She said sanitizers have been provided and there are proper arrangements for washing hands at the entrance points. She said that instructions have also been issued to the sewadars to motivate the pilgrims to be safe from corona inside gurdwaras.

She said that it is the responsibility of all to be vigilant during this time of crisis.

Bibi Jagir Kaur said that the SGPC is committed to the welfare of humanity in this time of crisis and it was decided to set up Covid Care Centres for the Covid-19 patients at various places. These centers have medical staff as well as oxygen and emergency ambulances, she said.
