Bharat Bhushan Ashu suspends Food Inspector and AFSO in alleged Arthiya Suicide case

Assuring stringent action against the guilty, Mr. Bharat Bhushan Ashu, Food and Civil Supplies Minister, Punjab informed the delegation of Arthiya Association that the Department observes zero-tolerance towards lapses in procurement operations.

He informed that a departmental enquiry is on and the alleged guilty of irregularities in procurement operation in Gurdaspur have been placed under suspension with immediate effect. Besides, an FIR has also been registered against the accused.

Those suspended include Jaswinder Singh, Assistant Food Supply Officer (AFSO) from Sri Hargobindpur area of Gurdaspur and Food Inspector Sandeep Singh.

Pertinently, an arthiya Jagjit Singh s/o Joginder Singh, resident of village Ghuman, Gurdaspur, as claimed by the family members died due to irregularities in procurement of his stock of paddy.

A delegation of Arthiya Association under Vijay Kalra and Amarjit Singh Brar called upon the Minister at Anaj Bhawan Chandigarh on Monday, seeking an action against the accused.
