Rajya Sabha members Sant Balbir Singh Seechewal and cricketer Harbhajan Singh Bhajji visited the flood-affected villages of the Mand area. With the help of a tractor, both MPs reached the homes of the affected people. Despite suffering losses of crops and homes for the past week, when Bhajji saw the people’s courage, he was astonished.
During the interaction, Bhajji said that even though thousands of acres of crops had been destroyed, the farmers’ morale had not shaken; instead, their spirits remained high. He added that this is the true essence of being Punjabi—remaining strong even in times of hardship.
On this occasion, Bhajji also mentioned those farmers whose crops had been completely destroyed and for whom sowing the next crop had become a challenge. Despite being caught in such financial crises, they were still helping other flood victims.
Harbhajan Singh Bhajji praised the efforts of his fellow parliamentarian, Sant Balbir Singh Seechewal, saying that whenever people face crises, he always steps forward to help. That is why, from the very first day, he arranged for excavators, JCB machines, and two boats for flood relief. Bhajji assured the farmers that along with Baba Ji, he would raise this issue with the Central and Punjab Governments seriously and remain committed to finding a solution.
On this occasion, MP and environmentalist Sant Balbir Singh Seechewal shared that he had personally visited the homes of flood-affected people and ensured that relief material was reaching them. He said that in difficult times, a person’s foremost duty is to help others.
Sant Seechewal stated that serving the victims is indeed the true service to humanity. He also said that young MP Harbhajan Singh Bhajji has always had a spirit of serving people, and today too, he had come with full dedication to understand the pain of the flood victims closely. Sant Seechewal further added that the district administration is also working with complete dedication to support the flood victims.
