Bhai Rajinder Singh honoured at Akal Takht on his return from England after serving 34 years in Jail

Bhai Rajinder Singh, who had assassinated anti-Sikh Darshan Das, for uttering derogatory remarks against the Sikh Gurus, was recently released from a British jail after serving a long sentence of 34 years, today visited Sri Harmandar Sahib to pay obeisance.

On this occasion, Bhai Rajinder Singh was especially honoured at Sri Akal Takht Sahib, the highest temporal seat of the Sikh community, by officiating Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh. Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee President S. Harjinder Singh Dhami and other prominent personalities were also present on the occasion.

Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, Giani Harpreet Singh said, “The Sikh community could never tolerate derogatory remarks against their Gurus and Sikh warriors. Bhai Rajinder Singh, who destined anti-Sikh (Darshan Das), for speaking bad about the Gurus and he had had to spend a long time in a jail in England and was released after 34 years. The Panth (community) always remembers the sacrifices of such heroes. An appeal has been made to SGPC to support the families of these Sikh warriors fully in every manner.”

SGPC President S. Harjinder Singh said, “Bhai Rajinder Singh is the jewel of the Sikh Qaum and his contribution towards the Quam is unforgettable. Bhai Rajinder Singh has spent a long period of his life in jail which is a great contribution to the community.”

On this occasion Giani Malkit Singh, head granthi of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, SGPC’s Dharam Prachar Committee member S. Sukhwarsh Singh Pannu, additional secretary S. Sukhdev Singh Bhurakohna, assistant secretaries S. Kulwinder Singh Ramdas, S. Balwinder Singh Kahlwan, in-charge S. Nirmal Singh, manager S. Narinder Singh, S. Jaspal Singh Dhade and family members of Bhai Rajinder Singh were also present.
