Bhagwant Mann demands speedy justice for families of Hooch Tragedy victims

Chandigarh, August 7, 2020 (Yes Punjab News)

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) state President and Member of Parliament (MP) Bhagwant Mann on Friday said the Chief Minister Amarinder Singh had taken too long to come out of his Siswan Farmhouse to share his grief with the aggrieved families at Tarn Taran.

In a statement issued from party headquarters on Friday, Bhagwant Mann through his social media said that on July 29, the first death due to hooch was reported and the toll had touched the 113 figure, but the CM was not out there to hold hand of the aggrieved families.

He said that the dance of death and destruction was still continuing, saying the CM took too long to fly Tarn Taran to be with the aggrieved families there. He added that the CM announced a meager raise in financial aid from Rs 2 lakh to 5 lakh, which was mere lip sympathy.

The AAP leader said while the CM himself had dubbed the deaths caused by the spurious liquor and plain murder, saying if the CM was serious about the statement made by him, he should immediately register cases against his own MLAs and others involved in this greatest ever human tragedy.

Mann further said that what can be worse than the fact that to force the Maharaja ‘CM’ out of his farmhouse and share the grief of the families which had lost their bread winners, the opposition party had to go the whole hog, by holding protests, and staging ‘Dharna’.

He said the AAP party would continue to raise the issue from roads to Vidhan Sabha to the Parliament till the time justice was done to the people.
