The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) state president and MP Bhagwant Mann on Sunday campaigned in the favor of the AAP candidates for Rajpura, Fatehgarh Sahib and Nabha Municipal Council elections.
During this, Bhagwant Mann conducted a road show and appealed to the people to make the Aam Aadmi Party candidates win in the upcoming municipal bodies’ elections. Addressing the gathering, Mann said that the local bodies’ elections were the foundation of democracy. He said that for the development of the city, it was important to make honest and qualified people win.
He said that this was an opportunity for a change, a chance to eradicate the corruption in the local bodies by the traditional parties SAD, BJP and Congress, which could be wiped away by pressing the ‘broom’ button. Mann said that it was important to elect qualified, honest and competent people and make them councilors, so that clean water, good roads, drains, street lights, public parks and other works could be done and arranged in every city of Punjab.
He said that the Aam Aadmi Party had always been working for the betterment of the people. “The issue of people’s rights has always been and will continue to be raised by AAP from the streets to the Parliament,” he added. Mann appealed to the voters to make the Aam Aadmi Party candidates win in the forthcoming municipal bodies’ elections on February 14 by pressing the ‘broom’ button and giving a befitting reply to the hooliganism of Akali-Congress.
Mann said that every five years, Akali and Congress changed their forms, won elections and looted the people with various forms of corruption. He said that there was now an opportunity for the people on February 14, to get rid of such corruption, by making the ‘broom’ win, so that the filth created by the Congress and the Akalis could be cleaned. Along with Mann, AAP state treasurer Neena Mittal and other AAP leaders were also present on the occasion.
