Bathinda Govt Schools get infrastructure boost, including International-level Swimming Pool

Bathinda has witnessed a boost in school infrastructure, as 15 governmental schools received brand-new facilities and infrastructure, including an international-level swimming pool.

Finance Minister Manpreet Singh Badal inaugurated two newly built wings one Shaheed Sandeep Singh Senior Secondary School at Parasram Nagar and another Government High School at Ghanaiya Nagar. He announced that the new buildings have resulted in a 100 percent increase in student enrollment at one school.

In a year, the school of Parasram Nagar doubled its number of students from 1,300 to 2,660, which is a doubling of enrolment. Classes are held in two shifts and all academic streams are offered at this school. In place of the existing one-storied building, a five-storey building has been built with three classrooms and two laboratories on each floor. Shaheed Sandeep Singh Senior Secondary School Paras Ram Nagar has now emerged as the top school in Bathinda in terms of enrollment in government schools.

Similarly, Ghanaiya Nagar School gets a spacious three-storey building with each floor having three classrooms and one laboratory each. The school serves nearly 300 students.

Total of Rs 2.68 crore was spent on Paras Ram Nagar Government School and 1.68 crore was spent on Government School,Ghaniya Nagar. The schools will have the facilities including cctv camera’s.

Manpreet Singh Badal revealed that Rs 10 crore is being spent on the Government Girls School at Mall Road which will have 150 classrooms. In addition to being a Senior Secondary school, the new school at Dhobiana Basti will include an international-level swimming pool.
