Taking serious note of the repeated statements made by Capt. Amarinder Singh regarding contesting 2022 elections with Shiromani Akali Dal (Sanyukt) and S. Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa regarding the distribution of seats, S. Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa said that
Capt. Amarinder Singh should refrain from making such baseless statements.
S. Dhindsa said that in the press conference held by the Captain, the Captain himself was admitting that he never held any discussion or meeting with him on this subject.
On Captian’s one-sided statement, S. Dhindsa categorically said that the issue of elections can be addressed later and first of all the issues of the farmers should be resolved and they should get justice.
He said that Capt. Amarinder Singh as the Chief Minister had failed on the issues of ensuring justice for disrespecting Guru Granth Sahib Ji, punishment of the culprits involved in shooting incident, drug addiction, sand mafia, transport mafia, liquor mafia etc. In addition, the SGPC elections have been pending for a long time. As a result, he has been removed from the post of Chief Minister.
S. Dhindsa said that Capt. Amarinder Singh had suddenly started remembering all these issues but for the last four and half years when he was the Chief Minister, he had remained silent on all these issues.
S. Dhindsa said that Capt. Amarinder Singh had not lived up to the expectations of the people of Punjab on all these issues.
Referring to the forthcoming Assembly elections in Punjab, S. Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa said that the ever-changing situation in the politics of Punjab shows that no single party will get a majority in 2022 and even no one without the support of Shiromani Akali Dal (Sanyukt) will not be able to form a government.
