Armed Forces Preparatory Institute to come up in Hoshiarpur, Arora gives credit to Amarinder, Ambika Soni

“The persistent efforts by the Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh and Rajya Sabha MP Mrs. Ambika Soni would soon lead to the opening of an Armed Forces Preparatory Institute in Bajwara (District Hoshiarpur) at a cost of Rs. 25 crore.

For the institute, Mrs. Ambika Soni has donated the land.” Disclosing this here today, the Industries and Commerce Minister, Mr. Sunder Sham Arora said that the institute would benefit the youth with aspirations to serve the country.

The minister further said that the Chief Minister himself has served the nation and that explains his commitment towards this cause. He further elaborated that the institute would benefit the youth of Doaba and Majha also along with those of Hoshiarpur to make a career for themselves in the armed forces by undergoing training for taking NDA exam.

He also said that the institute is coming up on the pattern of the Maharaja Ranjit Singh Training Institute at Mohali. The minister also added that Mrs. Ambika Soni being the daughter in law of Bajwara, has always contributed towards the development of the region as is evident from the land given by her for the construction of Gurudwara Sahib.

Thanking the Chief Minister, Mr. Arora said that with the coming up of the institute, a long pending demand of the youth of the area would be fulfilled and furthermore, the Chief Minister has approved half the amount needed so as to begin the construction work of the institute.

The institute would provide training to the youth for taking NDA exam besides taking care of their academics pertaining to the 11th and 12thstandard. The eligibility for taking entrance test for admission in the institute would be matriculation.

It is noteworthy that the first armed forces preparatory institute was opened in 2011 in Mohali and after its success another institute named Mai Bhago Armed Forces Preparatory Institute was opened in Mohali in 2015 for training the girls.
