At the dawn of the New Year, in a matter of proud for Punjab, Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRSPTU), Bathinda shines in Atal Ranking of Institutes on Innovation Achievements (ARIIA) for 2021 by bagging 4th position in Beginner Band & Overall 62nd position in India among Government Universities.
MRSPTU attainted top ranks in the innovation, Entrepreneurship Development’ amongst students, faculties and start-up under the Government / Govt. Aided – Technical) category as per the Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements (ARIIA), released by Union Minister of State for Education, Dr. Subhas Sarkar in a virtual ceremony recently.
In order to emphasize on innovation in India’s educational institutions, on the Ministry of Education launched ARIIA in 2019. ARIIA is an initiative to “Systematically rank all major higher educational institutes and Universities on numerous indicators related to “Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development’ amongst students and faculties, awareness, promotions and support for idea generation and innovation, innovative learning methods and courses, intellectual property generation, technology transfer and commercialisation and innovation in governance of the institution. As many as 1,438 institutes from all states participated in various categories of the ranking.
While congratulating all stakeholders, Vice Chancellor Prof. Buta Singh Sidhu said that this is a hallmark of our consistent efforts to creat a vibrant innovation and entrepreneurial ecosystem at the University within a short span of 6 years, He also said that Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) cell of the University have put sincere efforts, resulting in this achievement.
” This achievement speaks about the efforts put in by the faculty and staff of the university towards the campaign of innovation. I congratulate all stakeholders and at the same time appeal to them to not to be complacent and maintain the streak in the coming years too,” said Prof Buta Singh Sidhu.
“We at Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) are happy with the outcome of the ranking this year. MRSPTU is a unique university that carries futuristic innovation on its shoulders with equal ease and responsibilities. It’s a moment of rejoice for all of us here at the university,” said MRSPTU Director (IQAC) Prof. Ashish Baldi.
He informed that Over 1400 higher education Institutes and Universities participated in this year’s rankings. compared to just 674 last year. He stated that this ranking is the result of our relentless efforts towards providing excellent technical education in the region and the University will ensure further improvement in coming years.
Registrar of the University, Dr. Gurinder Pal Singh Brar said that this recognition shows that MRSPTU is moving in the right direction for making the University an innovation driven campus.“It is the hard work of our students, staff and faculty that resulted in securing this achievement, ” he said.
MRSPTU Research and Development department encourages students to become innovative leaders and contribute to nation-building by developing indigenous solutions.
