Anyone wants tips on surviving in quarantine, tweets Omar Abdullah

New Delhi, March 24, 2020-

Amid the novel coronavirus scare in India and subsequent lockdown across the country, former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Tuesday joked that he could help anyone wanting tips on surviving quarantine.

The National Conference leader was released on Tuesday after remaining under arrest for nearly eight months in a designated prison in Srinagar under the Public Safety Act.

In a series of tweets, the J&K leader said: “On a lighter note, if anyone wants tips on surviving in quarantine or a lockdown, I have months of experience at my disposal, perhaps a blog is in order.”

He thanked senior Congress leader and lawyer Kapil Sibal, saying: “I owe a huge debt of gratitude to @KapilSibal, Gopal Sankaranarayanan, @reyazshariq and their legal teams for taking the fight against my unjust PSA detention to the SC. Thank you to my baby sister Sara for filing the petition to have me freed.”

He also said he would do anything to help deal with the coronavirus crisis in the country.

“We face the fight of our lives over the next few weeks and months as we come to terms and work to defeat #COVID-19. I will do everything in my individual capacity to help authorities overcome this challenge and I appeal to all of you to do the same,” he said.  (Agency)
