Any State can touch zenith of growth in 5 years if ‘intentions’ and ‘policies’ are genuine: Kejriwal

National convener of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Delhi CM, Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday accused those at the helms of affairs in the Congress and SAD-BJP alliance partners ruling the country for longer spell who responsible to ‘keet’ the country ‘poor’ for 70 long years just to chase their personal and political ambitions and aspirations.

Currently in Punjab on campaign trails for the Sangrur sitting Member of Parliament (MP) and party’s nominee for the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday morning, accompanied by local MLA Meet Hayer, met a large number of morning walkers at Shaheed Bhagat Singh park here and interacted with them.

Interacting with the people assembled at the park there, Kejriwal said that 5 years was a quantum time span suffice to touch heights of growth, citing the Delhi model of governance where unprecedented growth had taken place in the field of education, health, water, power, et al.

The AAP supremo said that the government in Delhi had brought about unprecedented changes in the field of education and health services, saying the public schools under his government had scored 94.4 percentile whereas the costliest privately owned schools had scored 88 per cent. Similarly, in government hospitals, medical tests and treatment worth lakhs was free for the poor.

Kejriwal further added that potable water was available to the people free up to 20 thousand litres and power at the rate of Re one per unit. People on the occasion informed that the Punjab government had closed down many schools in the state for unspecified reasons and that power was being made available to the people at Rs 10 per unit.

The AAP leader said that his government had simultaneously started construction/repair work of some 10 thousand streets in various parts of the city, roads and laying of water pipes, which would be completed within three years, he said. He said his government in Delhi had done much for traders/businessmen community by devastating the age-old ‘inspector ‘raaj’. He invited those in attendance to come over to capital city to see the level of development in government schools and hospitals among others.

Answering media queries, Kejriwal said that he was insisting on forging an alliance with the Congress Party in Delhi, Haryana and Chandigarh, to throw the Modi-Shah duo out of power to save the country from ruining, saying both gave the country two prominent gifts – demonetization and GST and promoted hatred among communities.

Making a fervent appeal to the people of the high stake Sangrur constituency, Kejriwal said “Give your own, AAP candidate Bhagwant Mann a decisive mandate to pave the way for installation an AAP-led government in the state in 2022. Replying to another question, Delhi CM said that AAP could not form government in the state in 2017 because of some black sheep which had entered the party to fulfill their political and personal ambitions and aspirations.
