Anshuman Jha and Raghubir Yadav will headline the upcoming dramedy ‘Om Ka Hari’, a film that explores the emotional bond between a father and son and the unspoken feelings that can create distance within a family.
Directed by Harish Vyas, the film also stars Soni Razdan, Samta Sudiksha and Ayesha Kapur in key roles. The makers announced on Monday that the emotional drama will arrive in theatres on September 18, 2026.
Vyas described the film as the most personal and universal entry in what he considers a thematic trilogy centred on different forms of love and the emotions people often struggle to express.
“I think all three of my films have been about love, but about different kinds of love and, more importantly, about the things we struggle to say,” Vyas said.
He explained that his debut feature, ‘Angrezi Mein Kehte Hain’, focused on a married couple rediscovering the importance of expressing love after decades together, while ‘Hum Bhi Akele-Tum Bhi Akele’ explored love emerging through friendship.
“Om Ka Hari is perhaps the most personal and universal of the three — about a father and son who love each other deeply but have forgotten how to say it,” Vyas said.
Describing the central father-son conflict, the filmmaker said relationships between fathers and sons often involve expectations, disagreements and hurt, even when affection remains at their core.
“Sometimes, all it takes is saying it,” he added.
‘Angrezi Mein Kehte Hain’, starring Sanjay Mishra, Pankaj Tripathi and Anshuman Jha, marked Vyas’ feature-film debut and centred on the importance of expressing love within marriage.
‘Om Ka Hari’ marks the third collaboration between Vyas and Jha after their earlier films. Jha and Yadav play the titular father-son characters in the new film.
Produced by First Ray Films, ‘Om Ka Hari’ is scheduled for a theatrical release on September 18.
