The Union Government is working on modalities to lease out 5 AAI Airports including Sri Guru Ram Dass Jee International Airport at Amritsar.
Sharing this, Hardeep Singh Puri, Union Minister for Civil Aviation said that several steps have been taken to further enhance international and domestic aviation connectivity from Siri Guru Ram Dass Jee International Airport at Amritsar.
“In the last 2 years, 20 new flights per week have been added to Birmingham, Sharjah, Stansted, Abu Dhabi & Toronto,” the Minister said.
Puri said, with a proposal to expand the integrated passenger terminal building at the cost of ₹240 cr, the existing capacity of 2.5 Million Passengers Per Annum will increase to 5.5 MPPA.
Projects worth ₹60 cr for construction of apron, parking stands, up-gradation of the terminal building have been approved for & will be completed on schedule, Puri said.
