Amitabh Bachchan contributes Rs.2-cr to DSGMC’s Guru Tegh Bahadur COVID Care Centre

New Delhi, May 9, 2021 (Yes Punjab News)
The Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee (DSGMC) today conducted dry run of Guru Tegh Bahadur COVIC Care Centre at Gurudwara Rakabganj Sahib and declared that 400 bedded facility will start functioning from May 10, 2021.

Addressing media on the occasion, the DSGMC President Mr. Manjinder Singh Sirsa and General Secretary Mr. Harmeet Singh Kalka said that 300 beds will be available from tomorrow whereas 100 more beds will be added soon. They said that they had initially planned it to be a 250 facility but the Delhi Government has decided to make it a 400 bed facility.

They said that apart from oxygen corona patients will get medicines and food all free of cost in this centre. They said that the Delhi Government has deployed doctors, nurses and all staff at facility and attached it with LNJP hospital for ICU treatment of serious patients if required.

Both leaders said that DSGMC has made elaborate arrangement for stay of doctors and para medical staff besides provides other facilities.

Mr. Sirsa disclosed that Delhi Government has deputed local DM as Nodal officer for this centre whereas General Secretary Mr. Kalka will be Nodal officer from DSGMC side.

They thanked Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachan who has contributed Rs. 2 crore for this COVID facility and has said that he salutes Sikhs who are legendary. They also said that World Punjabi Organisation Chief Vikram Singh Sahney has contributed with 200 oxygen concentrators and similarly many others have come forward and have adopted different responsibilities in the Centre.

They said that this centre has been established in a short span of 10 days and also disclosed that after starting this centre the DSGMC will also launch such facilities in other places like Gurudwara Bangla Sahib also.
