Amid Flood Crisis, Supreme Court Extends Admission Cut-off Date For Punjab To Oct 30

Sri Muktsar Sahib, 8 Oct, 2025 (Yes Punjab News)

In a major relief to students and educational institutions of Punjab, the Supreme Court of India has extended the cut-off date of admissions till October 30 for colleges across the state. The relief has been granted in a case filed by members of the Punjab Unaided Colleges Association (PUCA) seeking an extension in view of the recent flood situation in Punjab.

PUCA President and Chairman said, “Earlier, the cut-off date for admissions was September 15 in the entire country. The students especially from flood-hit regions were not able to take admissions till due date. This extension till October 30 will help thousands of such students secure admissions.”

PUCA President expressed gratitude to the Supreme Court for this considerate and timely decision, which will ensure that no deserving student from Punjab loses the opportunity to pursue higher education due to the flood crisis. The relief has been granted in a case filed by members of the PUCA seeking extension in view of the recent flood situation in Punjab.

It is to be mentioned that for the last four years, PUCA has been approaching the Supreme Court and getting relief in the extension of admission cut-off dates.
