Amid the ongoing and lingering feud between Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh and former Punjab Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu, Punjab Congress President Sunil Jakhar has convened a meeting of Punjab Congress MLAs and District Presidents of the party.
Jakhar has asked the MLAs and DCC presidents to attend a meeting on Monday, July 19 scheduled to be held at Punjab Congress Bhawan at Chandigarh.
Sources said the meeting would be passing a resolution urging Congress High Command for an early resolution of the Punjab Congress crisis. It would also be resolved that the decision of the Congress high command would be acceptable to all.
It may be recalled that the resolution of the Amarinder-Sidhu feud ongoing for nearly two months now does not seem to be in sight and is creating a bitter atmosphere in the party.
Meanwhile, it is believed that whatever be the decision of the high command, Jakhar is all set to go. However, Jakhar has stepped in and convened the meeting in the interest of the party and to impress upon the Congress top brass that an early resolution of the feud is of utmost importance.
