MLA, Lehragaga and former Finance Minister, Sh. Parminder Singh Dhindsa today strongly criticised the Captian Government for shifting their focus on winning the 2022 Vidhan Sabha elections rather than making efforts to contain the increasing spread of COVID-19 infection in Punjab.
While coming down heavily on Capt. Amarinder Singh, Sh. Dhindsa said that instead of helping the people of the state in this hour of crisis, the Punjab Government is busy playing political gimmicks.
He said that on the one hand, the death graph of the State due to this deadly virus is on rising, on the other Punjab Chief Minister and his incapable political force is just holding useless political meetings.
Speaking on the current alarming situation in the state, Sh. Dhindsa said that the present Congress government had shown an example that how a people-elected government has betrayed the people and are busy doing ruthless political activities.
It seems that the Punjab Government is more concerned about saving their chair rather than thinking about the well being of the people of the State, said Sh. Dhindsa
Expressing concern over the serious situation presently prevailing in the state, Sh. Dhindsa said that the current condition of the hospitals highlight the fact that how Punjab is on the verge of facing an emergency-like situation as the stock of vaccinations required to fight this Pandemic has almost exhausted.
He said that at present Congress Government is only farsighted to win the upcoming 2022 elections, while unfortunately people especially living in rural areas of Punjab are every day losing their lives due to lack of health facilities.
In this hour of crisis, showing sensibility and political maturity it was expected that both the ruling and opposition leaders should have amicably fought this Pandemic but sadly Capt. Amarinder Singh while relaxing at his farmhouse has turned a blind eye towards the pain and sufferings of the people of the State.
“Punjab Chief Minister should come out of his farmhouse and see the ground realities himself. The Congress leaders instead of conducting important meetings to combat this Pandemic are busy in conducting useless political meetings,” said Sh. Dhindsa.
Sh. Dhindsa further said that the political turmoil in the leadership of the Congress party was highlighted over the last few days as the Government by doing their political drama in a planned way has tried to divert the attention of the people of the State from the sacrilege and Kotkapura shooting case.
He said that on one hand Congress Ministers and leaders by holding daily meetings are themselves rampantly flouting the COVID-19 protocols, while on the other the livelihood of the common man has been stopped by imposing strict compliance of COVID-19 rules and regulations.
