Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) legislators today confronted Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar in the Vidhan Sabha and raised slogans demanding the Harayana government pass a resolution repealing the three Agricultural laws besides making amendments to make the entire State a single ‘mandi’ so that the black laws cannot be implemented in Haryana.
SAD legislators confronted the Haryana chief minister immediately after he came out of the Haryana Vidhan Sabha hall and raised slogans “Khattar – Modi Kisan Virodhi”, “Kisana nu Insaaf davao” and “Haryana- Punjab bhai bhai” even as they condemned the BJP government for its anti-farmer stance.
The SAD legislators including Legislative party leader Sharanjit Singh Dhillon, Bikram Singh Majithia, Lakhbir Singh Lodhinangal, NK Sharma,Manpreet Singh Ayali, Gurpartap Singh Wadala, Harinderpal Singh Chandumajra and Kanwarjit Singh Barkandi, Baldev Khaira also condemned the Khattar government for indulging in atrocities against human right activists including Nodeep Kaur and Shiv Kumar, saying the torture inflicted on them was unimaginable in a democratic society.
They demanded all cases registered against the human right activists as well as hundreds of farmers who had been targeted only because they opposed the Agri laws should be withdrawn. The legislators also demanded that the Haryana government dismiss police officials who had indulged in atrocities against the human right activists in jails in Haryana. They said similarly action should be taken against police officials who had insulted the articles of faith of Sikh youth.
Speaking to newsmen, Mr Bikram Majithia said scores of Haryana State police personnel were used to stop SAD legislators from approaching the chief minister but the legislators staged a firm protest against the repression unleashed on the annadaata. He said the Haryana chief minister was forced to cut short his press conference and run away from the Vidhan Sabha building by the SAD.
“Earlier farmers of Haryana have stopped Khattar from landing his helicopter in the State. Now he has been forced to run from the State assembly. The Khattar government has lost even after winning a vote of no confidence”.
Stating that the SAD was with the farmers of Haryana in their fight against the black laws and their repressive M L Khattar led government, Mr Majithia said “we will not rest till the farmers get justice. We will continue to agitate against this government”.
The SAD legislators while expressing solidarity with farmers sitting on the borders of Delhi said “it seems the Haryana government has forgotten that these farmers are the next of kin of the soldiers guarding our frontiers. The Haryana government has even denigrated our esteemed slogan of Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan by disrespecting and mistreating both the soldiers and the farmers respectively”.
