Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn is set to take on a new role as the special host of the latest edition of the popular crime franchise ‘Crime Patrol – Crime Ka Current Season’, saying his association with the show has been an “eye-opener” because of its focus on cases inspired by real-life crimes.
Speaking about the show, Devgn said he was particularly intrigued by the fact that its stories draw from actual criminal cases and can make viewers aware of incidents that may occur in their surroundings.
“What I find most intriguing about the show is that the stories are inspired by crime cases. Some of them are shocking because they show you the kind of things that can happen in the world around us, sometimes involving people you would never expect,” he said.
The actor also pointed to the persistence and effort involved in investigating and solving such cases.
“At the same time, you also see the effort and persistence that goes into solving these cases. For me, the show is not just about telling compelling stories; it can also be an eye-opener for the audience,” Devgn said.
He stressed the importance of remaining alert in everyday life and avoiding blind trust.
“It makes you more aware, more cautious, and reminds you not to trust anyone blindly. That awareness is important for everyone — youngsters, families and older audiences alike,” he added.
As host, Devgn will take viewers through stories based on real-life crime cases, examining the circumstances surrounding the incidents and the efforts made to solve them.
IANS had first reported Devgn’s association with the show on August 10, including that he had already shot 15 episodes.
A source close to the production had earlier said that Devgn’s continuation as host for the remaining episodes would depend on audience response and television ratings (TRPs). The source also said actor Rajesh Tailang had been brought on board to host additional episodes of the upcoming season.
