After formation of AAP Govt in 2022, action will be taken against Cong goons and Police officers: Baljinder Kaur

Amritsar, February 15, 2021 (Yes Punjab News)
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) strongly condemned the violence in Punjab during the municipal bodies’ elections and the attack on the AAP workers. The AAP MLA Prof Baljinder Kaur on her visit to meet the party leader Laljit Singh Bhullar at his residence, who was injured in the violence, said that on the polling day on February 14, Congress goons in Patti committed violence and vandalism, trying to sabotage the polling process.

She said that the Congress goons entered the polling booths with weapons and tried to drive out the voters who came to cast their votes. When they were prevented from doing so, they opened fire, she added. Baljinder Kaur said that in the shootout, AAP worker Manvir Singh who was shot at by the Congress goons, sustained bullet injuries.

She said that at the same time, AAP leader Laljit Singh Bhullar, who had countered the hooliganism of the Congress goons, was brutally assaulted and forcibly detained by the police. “He was not released until the end of voting.

The police did this for the purpose of capturing polling booths by the Congress goons, she added. On Monday, the AAP MLA reached Amritsar Hospital to meet the party worker Manvir Singh and other AAP workers who were seriously injured in the firing by the Congress goons during the election.

In the hospital, she met Manvir Singh and other injured party workers to know their condition and assured them of all possible help by the party.

Lashing out at Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, the AAP leader said, “Is this the democracy of Captain Amarinder? Is this the democracy you were tasked to protect by the people of Punjab? You had your goons attack the rights of those, who trusted you and handed over the power.”

She further said that the Congress goons spread violence across the state for the purpose that the voters did not come out of their homes to vote in fear. “As the home minister of the state, it was the responsibility of Captain Amarinder Singh to stop the incident of violence so that people could vote fearlessly.

But Captain failed miserably to maintain the law and order of the state and failed to stop the incidents of hooliganism,” she added.

Taking a dig at Captain Amarinder Singh, she said that Captain had lost the trust of the people of Punjab and was not fit to sit on the public chair. “Captain should now resign from the post of Chief Minister immediately, taking the responsibility of the violence.

The people of Punjab are now fed up with the hooliganism of the Captain government,” she added. Baljinder Kaur further said that in 2022, the Aam Aadmi Party is coming to power with an absolute majority.

She said that after coming to power, the AAP will arrest these goons and send them to their real place in jail with strict action against the officials working at the behest of the Congress.

On the occasion, AAP state joint secretary Baljit Singh Khaira, Ashok Talwar, Tarn Taran district president Gurvinder Singh, Amritsar district urban president Parminder Singh Sethi, party leaders Kuldeep Dhaliwal, Ranjit Singh Cheema, Gurdev Singh Lakha, Dilbag Singh Fauji, Ranjit Kotdata, Jagjit Burj , Virsa Singh, Sukhdev Singh, Phula Singh, Jaimal Singh, among others were present.
