Administration should cooperate with SGPC to get Khalsa College Patiala land vacated from land mafia: Bibi Jagir Kaur

Efforts are being made by the managing committee of General Shivdev Singh Diwan Gurbachan Singh Khalsa College (Khalsa College), Patiala under the management of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), to stop the illegal occupation of college land by the land mafia.

Sharing this information, SGPC president Bibi Jagir Kaur said that the management Khalsa College, Patiala, managing committee had come under the SGPC on May 15, 1991.

The land in the name of this Khalsa College, Patiala include 110 bighas and 15 biswas, out of which, 25 bighas and 9 biswas are occupied by Mata Sahib Kaur Girls Khalsa College, Damo Majra, Patiala.

“The land mafia is making efforts to illegally occupy a total of 57 bighas and 19 biswas of the land of this college. The SGPC has erected boundary walls after vacating some land from the illegal occupation by the land mafia”, said Bibi Jagir Kaur.

Bibi Jagir Kaur said, “The administration is not cooperating with the SGPC while the land mafia is being helped. The property of the Sikh body is the trust of the Panth and no one would be allowed to occupy it illegally. I appeal to the Punjab chief minister (CM) Captain Amarinder Singh that this Sikh body (SGPC) is the pride of his own city Patiala whose properties are being illegally occupied.”

“I demand from the Punjab CM to immediately issue guidelines to DGP to support the Sikh body in vacating the illegal occupation of its land and to direct the administration to co-operate with the SGPC in this task. If any quarrel takes place at the concerned land then it would be the responsibility of the administration”, said SGPC president Bibi Jagir Kaur.

On this occasion the SGPC executive member Satwinder Singh Tohra, Bhupinder Singh Bhalwan, additional secretary Partap Singh, assistant secretary Kulwinder Singh Ramdas, Tejinder Singh Padda, Simarjeet Singh, superintendent Malkit Singh Beharwal, OSDs to SGPC president Dr Amrik Singh Latifpur and Dr Sukhbir Singh and others were present.
