Aayushi Khurrana: Stepping into shoes of a woman who loses her newborn child was heartbreaking

Mumbai, June 9, 2026

Actress Aayushi Khurrana has opened up about one of the most emotionally demanding sequences of her career in the show, ‘Jaane Anjaane Hum Mile’.

The actress revealed that portraying a mother grieving the loss of her newborn child left a deep impact on her even after the cameras stopped rolling.

Speaking about the upcoming track, Aayushi said stepping into the shoes of Reet, who loses her baby shortly after childbirth, was “heartbreaking even to imagine.”

She said, “Reet’s journey in the recent episodes has been one of the most emotionally challenging experiences of my career. While I am not a mother in real life, stepping into the shoes of a woman who loses her newborn child was heartbreaking even to imagine.”

She added, “Especially when Reet has a breakdown at her baby’s graveyard, that’s when I had to completely surrender to the character’s pain, and it left me deeply emotional.”

The actress further added that some scenes stayed with her long after filming wrapped.

“As actors, we often draw from our emotions to make a scene feel real, but portraying the grief of losing a child is something that stays with you long after the camera stops rolling. Some scenes genuinely left me speechless. I’m grateful to my co-actors, director, and the entire team for creating such a supportive environment and giving me the space to perform these difficult moments with honesty and sensitivity,” Aayushi said.

Talking about Zee TV’s popular fiction show ‘Jaane Anjaane Hum Mile’, stars Bharat Ahlawwat as Raghav and Aayushi Khurrana as Reet.

It has over time delivered many powerful tracks like Sehaj Rajput’s domestic violence storyline and Bharat Ahlawwat’s jail sequence.

In the upcoming episodes of the show, viewers will witness a heartbreaking turn in Reet and Raghav’s lives. After giving birth, Reet is faced with the devastating loss of her newborn child. Unable to come to terms with the tragedy, she is seen breaking down while visiting her baby’s grave, setting the stage for one of the show’s most emotional story arcs yet.(Agency)
