AAP will help strengthening farmers’ agitation through March 21 Kisan Maha Sammelan: Harpal Cheema

Amritsar, March 13, 2021 (Yes Punjab News)
Supporting the farmers’ movement and raising their voice, senior leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Leader of Opposition (LoP) in the Punjab Assembly, Harpal Singh Cheema convened a road show at Ajnala on Saturday along with the newly inducted member of the party Sonu Jafar. Addressing the massive gathering during the road show, Harpal Singh Cheema appealed to the people to show up for the AAP Kisan Maha Sammelan at Bagha Purana on March 21 in huge numbers.

Cheema said that the Aam Aadmi Party was the first party to oppose the central farm laws, the first party to support the farmers’ kooch to Delhi and the only party that stood shoulder to shoulder along with the farmers in their fight.

Later addressing a press conference, Cheema said that Arvind Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party has always worked as a ‘sewadar’ for the protesting farmers. “When the farmers came at the doorstep of Delhi after facing tremendous hardships and torture, Arvind Kejriwal provided them with all the help that they needed,” he added.

He said that Arvind Kejriwal and his party worked as a sewadar day and night providing food, water and sanitation, and health facilities. Cheema said that despite repeated efforts to arm-twisting, Arvind Kejriwal did not budge and did not let the agitation weaken.

The LoP said that however, forces had propped up again and were trying to weaken the farmer protests. He said that Captain Amarinder Singh himself was trying his best to sabotage the farmers’ protest and weaken their movement; but the AAP will never let the farmer protest weaken.

“To make the farmers’ agitation stronger and to resonate their voices, Arvind Kejriwal is coming to Punjab. On March 21, Arvind Kejriwal is coming to Bagha Purana to talk about the protesting farmers, to reiterate their concerns, and resonate their demands,” said Cheema.

He said that the forces that were trying to suppress the voices of the farmers will be taught a lesson; they would be shown how the voices of the farmers will not die. Cheema said that on March 21, the voices from Bagha Purana will echo across Punjab and resonate in the corridors of power in Delhi.

“These voices will reach the ears of the deaf and ignorant Captain Amarinder and his boss PM Modi. We will force them to listen,” he added.
