AAP to serve ‘show cause’ on Jasbir Singh Bir for convening disciplinary committee meeting against Aman Arora

Chandigarh, September 2, 2019 (Yes Punjab News)

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab has unanimously decided to serve a ‘show cause’ notice on its disciplinary committee chief and former IAS officer Jasbir Singh Bir for his uncouth utterings against Sunam MLA of the party, Aman Arora.

In a statement issued from party headquarters on Monday, the chief spokesperson of the party and MLA, Prof. Baljinder Kaur and Punjab Kisan wing chief and MLA Kultar Singh Sandhwan informed that, taking cognisance of the unsolicited comments of Jasbir Singh Bir against senior leader and Sunam MLA, Aman Arora, the State Core Committee had unanimously decided to issue a ‘show-cause’ notice to him.

During an inter-phone conferencing here on Monday morning, state president and parliamentarian Bhagwant Mann, core committee chairman, Principal Budhram and Leader of Opposition (LoP), Harpal Singh Cheema and other leaders of the party, while rubbishing the news reports published in a section of the press on behalf of Sunam MLA Aman Arora, said that Jasbir Singh Bir, who was neither chairman of the disciplinary committee of the party nor was an active in the party affairs for long now, wielded no powers to react to the news reports published in a section of the press on behalf of the AAP legislator.

They questioned as in what capacity he had convened meeting of the disciplinary committee of the party against Aman Arora on September 6? He would be asked to clarify his position to the party high command and explain his unwarranted and arbitrary decision.

Kultar Singh Sandhu and Prof. Baljinder Kaur said that the party and people of the state were aware of such anti-party forces raising their heads at such a juncture when the Aam Aadmi Party becomes a focal point of the state politics and the people of the state, sick of the ‘misrule’ of the subsequent governments at the centre and state led by Modi, Captain, and Badal, look up AAP as their only benefactors.

Citing multi-pronged public-centric agendas cut-out by the party, AAP leaders said ‘Saada MP saade ghar’, launched by party president Bhagwant Mann, the newly-launched membership drive under the name Aam Aadmi Army (AAA), the ‘Bijli morcha’ to fight power blues of the people and the state-level ‘Punjab Bolda’ programs, which had left them with no option but to play some mischief and hatch conspiracies to harm the AAP, saying that the people of the state had

seen the Congress, the Akali-BJP alliance partners and their ‘B’ teams, which had joined hands playing the cards to upset the AAP’s apple cart. Their evil designs won’t be able to take the people of Punjab for a ride any more, they opined.

Prof. Baljinder Kaur and Kultar Singh Sandhwan further said that it was more shocking than surprising was that Jasbir Singh Bir claimed to have spoken to party president Bhagwant Mann about the proposed meeting of the disciplinary committee against Aman Arora on September 6, which they dubbed as a false and frivolous propaganda mounted by Bir with the party chief saying he never spoke to him about the same, which, they said, amounted to an anti-party activity, for which Jasbir Singh Bir was being asked to come clean by issuing a clarification.

The AAP leaders quoting party president Bhagwant Mann said that Aman Arora had informed party president and core committee chairman about his inability to attend August 28 meeting due to his pre-occupation in Delhi that day, and, therefore, his absence on the day was an issue of no consequence, saying that Bir had tried to make an issue out of it but was decimated by the party chief.

Both the leaders said that no one was authorised to call in a ‘Disciplinary Committee’ meet without the prior permission of the party president and the core committee, stating that Aman Arora was a loyal soldier of the party and was committed to stand by the party lofty ideology and ideals.

The party was fully united to rid Punjab and its people of Captain and Badals and their ‘mafia raj’ in the state under the leadership of Bhagwant Mann, “whose heart always beats for Punjab and its people, who were subjected to suffer immensely under their hellish regimes.”, they signed off.
