AAP MLAs meet MEA officials in Delhi to seek return of women trapped in UAE, Australia

Chandigarh, June 14, 2019 (Yes Punjab News)

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLAs on Friday met officials of the Ministry of External Affairs urging them to ensure the safe return of two Punjabi women trapped in Australia and Kuwait (UAE).

In a joint statement issued for party headquarters in Chandigarh, Kotkapura MLA, Kultar Singh Sandhwan, Garhshankar MLA and state president of NRI Wing, Jai Kishan Singh Rori, met under secretary G.D. Pande and other officials of the Ministry of External Affairs in Delhi urging them to facilitate release and safe return of a woman from Dhariwal (Gurdaspur) trapped in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and another Malwa girl trapped in Australia.

Sandhwan and Rori said that the young boys and girls of the state were left to look up for greener pastures on the foreign shores due to the wrong policies of the state and union governments, stating that all the preceding governments, and now the Congress government in the saddle, were responsible for the sorry state of affairs.

They slammed the governments for being insensitive to the cause of the youth in the state.

Taking a dig at the Captain Amarinder Singh government, which promised ‘ghar ghar naukri’ and the Modi government at the centre which tom-tommed about creating two crore job for the youth in the country, saying they had given a them false hopes and promises which they delivered after grabbing power.

Accusing both the state and centre governments, the AAP leaders said that the unscrupulous travel agents were running the nefarious trade with impunity under the protective patronage of their political godfathers.

The apathetic stance of those holding the fort in the state and the centre had left countless gullible youth pinning hopes of a rosy tomorrow dreams to fall prey to these gangs of ‘robbers’ forcing them to fall in their trap on promising plum jobs abroad.

Sandhwan demanded that the government should have ‘Zero Tolerance’ when it came to dealing with the wily travel agents managing their trade fraudulently arranging fake visas to entice and trap the innocent youths. The government should go the hard way to tackle the well organized nexus of travel agents by confiscating their properties and so that that no more innocent people fall prey to their evil designs thus sending out a loud and clear message to them.
