Chandigarh, December 2, 2020 (Yes Punjab News)
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), which has been engaged, heart and soul, in extending all kinds of assistant to the struggling farmers on the national capital’s borders, has come up with a unique humanitarian initiative to extend financial aid to the aggrieved families of those who fall victims to mishap during the ongoing farmers agitation.

In a joint statement released from party headquarters here on Wednesday, Jagraon MLA and deputy leader of opposition Sarabjit Kaur Manuke and state youth wing co-president Anmol Gagan Mann said the party had kicked off the unique campaign after a ‘protester’ Janak Raj, a resident of Dhanaula village under Sangrur district, a mechanic by profession, died in a freak fire accident on Saturday night while he asleep in a stationary car, which accidently caught fire at the Tikri border near Bahadurgarh-Delhi.

Sarabjit Kaur Manuke, who visited the aggrieved family to offer condolences, informed that the innovative initiative had elicited humongous response from a cross section of society, including the NRIs from Delhi-Punjab and other parts of the country, who had contributed generously to the cause, adding that an amount of Rs 10 lakh had poured in within 72 hours of the start of the campaign.

Elaborating on the ongoing campaign, Manuke said that the AAP would also go the whole hog to extend a helping hand to arrange similar financial aid to the bereaved families of those who fall victim to such mishaps during the ongoing farmers’ stir

Manuke said that, in a bid to put in place all facilities, AAP had deployed party volunteers in the service of the farmers, currently fighting the big battle on the Delhi-Haryana border against the draconian new agriculture legislations enacted by the Centre. The Party had put in place teams of volunteers on the job at the Sighun and Tikri borders to extend a all possible help to the farmers, round the clock.

Anmol Gagan Mann on the occasion said that the AAP under the visionary leadership of Arvind Kejriwal had formed teams of volunteers to provide selfless service to the agitating farmers in Delhi in every possible way, adding that volunteers deployed for the purpose were tasked with ensuring timely medical assistance to the farmers, langar (community kitchen), potable water through water tankers, makeshift lavatories and other essentials of daily use.

She said that the requisite instructions issued by Delhi chief minister and national convener Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, the teams had been working behind the scenes without using party flags or symbols, adding that the untiring team of volunteers was providing special attention to the delivery of essentials at the ‘dharna’ site.
