AAP has betrayed Punjabis by failing to allocate resources to fulfil key promises: Ayali

Chandigarh, June 27, 2022 (Yes Punjab News)
The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) today said the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government had betrayed Punjabis by failing to allocate resources to fulfil key promises even as it condemned chief minister Bhagwant Singh Mann for mindlessly thrusting the failed Delhi model on Punjab.

Reacting to the budget 2022- 23, SAD legislature party leader Manpreet Singh Ayali said the AAP government had betrayed women voters by failing to allocate a single rupee for the Rs 1,000 per month allowance for all women of the State. He said this was not all.

“The government has even failed to lay out the road map for implementing the 300 units per month free power scheme. PSPCL is already running in losses and the government has not come out with an allocation to compensate it for running this scheme”.

Mr Manpreet Ayali also condemned the government for mindlessly copying the failed Delhi Model. He said the government had announced a token implementation of the Mohalla Clinic scheme for cheap publicity alone. “The need of the hour is to strengthen the community health centres and create super speciality centres for which funds have not been allocated “.

Mr Ayali also condemned the AAP government for defrauding youth by announcing distribution of Rs 20,000 seed money for entrepreneurship development after holding contests. “This scheme, like in the case of Delhi, is aimed at publicity alone”. He also castigated AAP for allocating funds to give skill training to 250 youth only. Where are the funds to train and make lakhs of youth employable”, Mr Ayali asked the chief minister.

He said the government had made an empty promise to regularise 36,000 contractual employees but failed to move a resolution in this regard in the Vidhan Sabha. “New jobs also remain on paper and even those given appointment letters are not getting salaries”, he added.

Terming the budget as a jugglury of figures, Mr Ayali said GST collection had been wrongly calculated. He said there was a shortfall of Rs 400 crore in excise collections alone even as stamp duty collections had also fallen.
